5 Celebrities that Needed Physical Therapy

Physical therapy helps people gain mobility after losing/weakening capabilities. They can help individuals regain their movements and become better able to just simply live their lives. Some people seek the mobility assistance of a PT after an accident or injury while others need one because of old age or disease. Celebrities are people, too. Just more glamorous and rich people—but people nonetheless and require physical therapy as much as we do.

Stephen Hawking

Remember last summer when everyone was dumping water on their heads for ALS? Well, one of the most famous celebrities dealing with the daunting disease of Lout Gehrig’s disease. However, before the motor-neuron disease left him physically impaired, he relied heavily on the assistance of physical therapy. Unfortunately, now his condition has become so extreme that the celebrity scientist can’t walk, talk without the aid of  machine, or even hold his head up on his own. However, despite the adversity he faces, he still is one of the most respected people in astrophysics.

Brett Michaels

Brett Michaels, the singer of Poison, suffered a brain hemorrhage in April 2010 that left him with back spasms as well as muscle issues after the event. Physical therapy helped the musician make a recovery after the traumatic experience. Now, he is good as new!

Suge Knight

A shooting in 2005 left rapper and producer, Suge Knight, in the care of a physical care unit until he was able to make a successful recovery.  Knight was shot six times at the pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Bown, but still miraculously was able to walk out of the club on his own. Although the shooting remains unsolved, it’s no mystery that physical therapy can help treat mobility issues after injuries.

Zsa Zsa Gabor

Zsa Zsa Gabor needed mobility therapy after she had a bad fall that broke her hip. The fall left her needing to stay in the hospital for about 3 weeks. However, she required physical therapists to visit her several times a week until she was able to walk normally again.

Randy Travis

Country music singer, Randy Travis, suffered a viral heart infection and stroke that caused him to be sent to a physical therapy facility back in 2013.
